What You Need for the Holidays
Whether you’re a product or service based business, prep for the holidays starts…well, yesterday.
We’ve been elbow deep in knocking out holiday promo graphics for our clients and are drawing close to some print deadlines! But that doesn’t mean it’s too late to get the ball rolling on your holiday promotions.
Here’s what you need to quickly plan your holiday season:
Your offer. Make sure this is something you’ve delivered on before, so you know you can knock it out of the park. Simple is great!
The value proposition. Briefly describe the features of your product, but what you really want to focus on is the benefits. Will your customer save time? Money? Frustration?
If you’ve got a luxury product, you’re not selling a solution as much as you’re selling a dream. Your audience isn’t buying your product or service as much as they are the emotional, physical, or sensory experience that comes with it. How will they feel when they have your product in their hot little hands? The timing. Black Friday is pretty hard to forget, but remember that it’s followed by Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday! Even if you’ve missed those biggies, there are lots of opportunities to tie your offer to this time of year. Consider after Christmas sales and the fresh start a new year brings. Keep in mind your shipping deadlines and hours, and make sure you’re proactive about communicating this info to your customers.
Whether it’s outsourcing or a little in-house DIY—get all the creative work done first! There are a few things to consider behind the scenes as well. Can you send a thoughtfully designed card or gift to your clients? And what about your team? You couldn’t have done this without them, so it’s a great time to celebrate together (from a safe distance apart of course).
After all, here’s the most important part of the season: take stock, celebrate your wins, and congratulate yourself on making it through a doozy of a year!
